Conditions for Publication in the Journal
"Bulletin of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy"
1. The journal accepts only previously unpublished original manuscripts—scientific (practical) articles and reviews—that are relevant to the journal’s subject matter. Submissions are subject to mandatory peer review in accordance with established procedures, based on criteria of relevance, scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance, style, and compliance with formatting requirements. The editorial board is not responsible for the content of the submitted materials. Manuscripts are not returned to authors.
2. Basic Requirements for the Content of Authored Materials
Scientific (scientific-practical) article. The introduction must justify the relevance and appropriateness of the topic (scientific problem or task). In the main body of the article, through the analysis and synthesis of information, the author must address the problems under investigation, propose solutions, justify possible results, and demonstrate their reliability. In the concluding section, summarize the findings, formulate conclusions and recommendations, and indicate possible directions for further research.
The journal accepts scientific articles in the following fields:
1. Surgery
2. Clinical Anatomy
3. Operative Surgery
4. Teaching of Surgical Disciplines
2.1. Formatting of Manuscripts
Manuscripts should be submitted to the editorial office and must include the following elements: title, author information, abstract, keywords, UDC classification code, and reference list.
2.1.1. The title should be concise and reflect the essence of the manuscript’s subject matter. Following the title, information about the authors, compilers, and other individuals who participated in the work on the manuscript must be provided.
2.1.2. Information about the authors is provided after the title and includes the following elements: the author’s last name and initials, place of work or study (name of the institution or organization, city, country). The author’s first name is given in the nominative case. In collective works, the authors’ names are listed in the order they have agreed upon.
2.1.3. The abstract is formatted in accordance with GOST 7.9-95, GOST R 7.04, and GOST 7.5 and should be between 200 and 500 printed characters in length. It is placed after the information about the manuscript’s authors.
An abstract in Russian for English-language materials should be:
- informative (avoid vague or general terms);
- original (not a direct copy of the English abstract);
- substantive (reflect the main content and results of the research);
- structured (follow the logic of the description of the results);
- written in proper Russian or English;
- concise (between 200 and 500 words).
The best approach to the abstract is to briefly summarize the structure of the paper, including the introduction, objectives and goals, methods, results, and conclusion.
2.1.4. Keywords are selected from the text of the manuscript and placed on a separate line after the abstract, before the main text of the published manuscript. Keywords (no fewer than 5 and no more than 10) are listed in the nominative case.
2.1.5. The information specified in subclauses 2.1.1–2.1.4 must be provided in Russian and placed after subclause 2.1.4. Sections can be written for foreign authors: title, abstracts and keywords only in English (without translation into Russian). The translation into Russian will be carried out by the editorial staff.
2.1.6. The bibliography must consist of in-text citations (GOST 7.05-2008) and a list of references at the end of the article (section “References”), with citations in the form of [1] or [2, 3]. The author is responsible for the accuracy of the information, the correctness of citations, and references to official documents and other sources. Anonymous publications, newspaper articles, regulatory acts (if necessary, references to them should be indicated in the text of the article itself), textbooks, etc., are not included in the list. It is not recommended to use electronic resources in the bibliography.
2.1.7. The text must be at least 80% original, and all citations must be properly attributed (please check for plagiarism).
2.1.8. Additionally, authors must provide information about the authors following section 2.1.5., which includes the following elements: the author’s last name, first name, and patronymic; email address; full official name of the place of employment (or study); department; country; city; street; and house number (or organization). SPIN-code, ORCID-code, Scopus-code
2.2. Formatting Requirements
The length of the original manuscript must be at least 5 pages in A4 format, typed single-spaced in Times New Roman font size 12. The main text should have no paragraph indents.
Tables must be created using Word table cells. Text and numbers within cells must be aligned using only standard methods, without the use of spaces, paragraphs, or additional blank lines. Color highlighting should not be used.
Use MS Excel to create graphs and charts (the file must contain the original numerical data associated with the figure). All figures must be placed “in the text,” without additional text wrapping. Figures and diagrams created in Word must be grouped within a single object. The use of scanned graphic materials is prohibited.
Tables and figures should be embedded in the text, and their layout on the page should follow standard book formatting. Tables must have a title placed above the table body, and figures must have captions.
When using multiple tables or figures, numbering is required. Figures should be grouped together. Formulas must be typeset using MS Equation.

3. Submission of Materials to the Editorial Board
3.1. The Editorial Board accepts materials for consideration only in electronic form at the email address vestnikohita@gmail.com. Files must be named after the first author’s last name in *.doc format (Ivanov article.doc, Ivanov contract.doc). The email subject line must include the author’s last name and initials.
3.2. All materials submitted by authors for publication in the journal are reviewed in accordance with the review policy.
3.3. Along with the author’s original manuscript prepared in accordance with the requirements of section 2.1, the author must submit signed scanned copies of the cover letter (for each author in a single document) – Appendix 2 – and the contract-offer – Appendix 3
4. Other Terms and Conditions
• Submission of materials to the editorial board constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions of publication. Materials submitted to the editorial board that do not comply with these terms and conditions will not be considered. The editorial board does not correspond with authors of rejected materials.
• The journal is published exclusively in electronic format. Access to all issues of the journal is free for everyone, including authors, both on the journal’s website and in the eLIBRARY.RU academic digital library
• Materials are published at the discretion of the editorial board on a first-come, first-served basis and free of charge. Publication in a specific issue is not guaranteed. No publication fees are charged, and no author’s fees are paid.
Privacy
The names and addresses you provide during registration will be used exclusively for technical purposes: to contact you or reviewers (editors) while preparing your article for publication. Under no circumstances will they be disclosed to other individuals or organizations.
